A permission to engage in activities outside of one's visa status is the authorization required to perform work other than the activities permitted under one’s original Status of Residence.
[Relationship to the System]
For foreign nationals, the “permitted activities” are determined by their specific Status of Residence.
Examples:
・Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services → Only specialized work is permitted
・Specified Skilled Worker → Only work in designated fields is permitted
"Permission to engage in activities outside of one's visa status” is required to work beyond these limits.
*This system is operated in accordance with the rules of the Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
Be sure to confirm the following points at the time of hiring:
・Whether the "Permission to engage in activities outside of one's visa status” section is present on the Residence Card
*If you allow an employee to work without this permission, it may constitute illegal employment.
