What is the Withdrawal Lump-Sum Payment?

This is a system that allows foreign nationals who have paid into the public pension system (Employee Pension Insurance or National Pension) in Japan for a certain period to receive a portion of those contributions after returning to their home country.
If they were enrolled in the public pension system (Employee Pension Insurance or National Pension) for six months or longer, you are eligible to receive this benefit by applying after leaving Japan.

・You must not hold Japanese nationality.
・You must have paid into the public pension system (Employee Pension Insurance or National Pension) for a total of six months or longer.
・You must have left Japan.
・You must not be receiving an old-age pension or disability pension

【How to Apply】
・Applications must be submitted within two years of leaving Japan
・Submit the required documents by mail to the Japan Pension Service
*Applications may also be submitted by a representative residing in Japan by preparing a power of attorney.
